No, Hermanas Unidas is not a sorority. Hermanas Unidas is a non-profit organization determined to make the journey of college easier for all of us. We focus on academics, community service, and social aspects of college life to make our Hermanas holistic and functioning members of society. It is our goal to see everyone graduate and prosper!
Is HaU only for Latinas?
Hermanas Unidas prides itself on having an open-door policy.
This means that anyone who is passionate about the things we stand for can join Hermanas Unidas. There is no pledging, no rush, no educational process. All are welcome and able to become a Hermana when they feel it in their hearts. If you feel like a Hermana, it's because you are one!
There is no formal way to join the organization. It is simply showing up to meetings and interacting with your Hermanas and with doing just that you are a general member.
